Mountain Bike Series

The Maine Junior Bike League was formed in the spring of 2005 to introduce kids to the amazing sport of mountain biking. Through creative practices and thrilling competitions, our goal is to instill the love of mountain biking in each young person.

The Latest Dirt!

August 15 - Congrats to all riders! This year was by far the best year ever for the MJBL and it is due in large part to your commitment, passion and overall excitement...we can't thank you enough! The Awards Night is scheduled for this upcoming Monday (8/18) at the Snow Bowl beginning at 5:30pm. Parents and children should bring their bikes for the ever popular parent/child race. We also ask that every family bring something for the feast. The MJBL will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, paper products and drinks. Desserts, salads or whatever else you wish to bring would be great! See you Monday!

August 11 - The races are on for tonight- 5:30PM. The final night of racing for the 2008 MJBL! The race tonight will be a time trial format (details when you arrive at the Camden Snow Bowl). 2008 Awards and BBQ will be next week. Find out more details tonight at the race.

August 4 - The races are still on for today...at this point! We are going to keep a close eye on the weather as the midcoast area has a heavy downpour warning for this afternoon. As of yesterday afternoon, the trails were in great shape! Stay tuned to the website...any changes will be made by 3pm.

August 1 - This has been such an amazing season thus far! I can't wait for the final two weeks as the overall results are wide open in every division. The final two weeks are at the Camden Snow Bowl, so get out there and practice! Last weeks event as well as the overall standings are posted in the Results Section of the site. See everyone Monday night! :)

For those of you that were not able to make the 4th event, we have decided to throw out the results from Event #3. Timing issues and wet paperwork made the results very difficult to read. We want to be fair to everyone and could not guarantee that the results that may be posted were accurate.

July 21 - The races are on for tonight! If there are any changes we will update the website by 3pm but things look good. We have had a couple of trailbuilding days and the new course is complete! Thanks to everyone that showed up for the trailbuilding on Thursday. You may want to bring an umbrella and certainly some bug spray!

July 14 - The races scheduled for tonight are POSTPONED until next week. There are a number of reasons behind this decision, but the main reason is that the trails are not ready for a safe race. With that in mind, I am scheduling a trail building session at the Owls Head Transportation Museum for this Thursday at 4:30pm. If you are able to make it...great! Please bring rakes, shovels and if anyone has a weedwacker...that would be awesome! The races will resume next Monday...stay pumped up and excited!
